Ground hog day!! Have you ever heard of that? Do you know what it is?
Well, it’s a situation in which a series of events appear to be recurring in exactly the same way every day!!
That’s what it feels like for everyone at this time of the year I’m sure. We all welcome a break in the routine don’t we!
Strangely though, I get a bit down when summer is round the corner…why?
Well, the main reason is because we have to say goodbye to a lot of our friends who will be travelling away too. Some of them for good:(.
It’s a bit upsetting and unsettling as they become a part of your everyday routine whether its seeing them at office, or brushing past them in the lobby of your building, or parking your car in your garage and you wave hello to your neighbour/friend as they just arrive home from work themselves, or while picking/dropping your children to and from school.
They do become part of your everyday and deep down in your heart, that fills you with a warm feeling of community and togetherness. Your heart smiles on the inside and it reflects on your entire day.
I love it all.
Then summer comes, and it’s all change again. Don’t get me wrong I love change, I really do. It’s just the friends going away bit I don’t love :(
Yup! You guessed it, I’m big on friends.
By the end of summer, I’ll be saying…oh no summer is over and its now back to routine!! Hahahaha… there’s no pleasing me is there!
I guess maybe what I’m really trying to say is, enjoy the moment you are in. There’s a reason we are all where we are right now. Time can stand still, if we want it to and when we want it to. It’s all up to us.
As one wise friend told me…it’s all in our minds, and how we react to things is all that matters.
So let’s enjoy the summer and when it’s time to come back and start a fresh, lets look forward to that too.
More than anything, lets not forget to be thankful for all that we have and get to do during this summer.
Stay safe everyone and hope to hear from you via CLB when we are all back from summer.
We will all need some cake to shake away the blues of summer holidays end and you know where you can get that from :)).
The CLB Team.
